The Aiomic Age

Reading the age of artificial intelligence

What is actually happening, and what it means for the people who will live with it.

Interviews with the people who have had to sign something. Series that take one domain at a time. A weekly reading of the week. And two standing instruments — because the argument is more useful when somebody is willing to put a number on it.

Eight programmes are commissioned and none of them is out yet. What follows is what we are making, so you can decide now whether it is worth your Sunday morning.

What we make

Each of these runs on its own schedule and can be followed on its own. Pick one and you get its full run.

Series

Watched. Each takes a subject and stays with it.

Written & measured

Read on a Sunday, and consulted when the argument needs a number.

The programmes cut one way; these cut across them. Once there is work here, a subject will gather everything we have made on it, whichever programme it came from.

The Signal

One considered email, every Sunday.

Eight to ten things that changed in the week, each with a sentence on why it matters, and a closing paragraph on the pattern they trace together. About twelve hundred words. Written by one of us in rotation.
